Harbor Point Dental was founded in 2008 by Dr. Margaret Callahan with a simple conviction: the dentist should be a place where people actually feel comfortable.
After graduating from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry and completing a residency in general dentistry at Maine Medical Center, Dr. Callahan returned to her hometown of Portland to open a practice that reflects how she wishes her own family's dentist would have been — warm, transparent, and thorough.
What started as a solo practice in a small Congress Street office has grown into a full-service dental home for over 1,200 Portland families. We've expanded our team and our technology, but the founding principle hasn't changed: treat every patient like someone you'd want taking care of your own smile.
Our office was fully renovated in 2022 with digital X-ray imaging, CAD/CAM same-day crown technology, and a dedicated pediatric treatment room designed to put the youngest patients at ease.

University of New England, '14. Known for making even the most anxious patients relaxed in the chair. 12 years of hygiene experience specializing in periodontal therapy and sedation-assisted cleanings.
Certified Dental Assistant
Maine Community Technical College, '19. Manages our CAD/CAM crown lab and assists on complex restorations. Keeps the operatory running like clockwork.

Handles scheduling, insurance, and the front desk with a smile. If you need to reschedule or have a billing question, Amanda is your person. With Harbor Point since 2015.
